Large installation piece for my solo exhibition 'Echoes From A Shoreline' at the National Centre for Craft and Design in May.
I am preparing a large commission piece for the British Ceramic Biennial 2017. I will be working with an assistant over the summer to produce a set of three huge statement hybrid vessels. These will be decorated with a colour and mark making palette inspired by the historic Spode factory in stoke where the final piece will be presented. The large mould I will be using for these pieces was made at The International Ceramic Research Centre in Denmark as part of my residency there last year. I am really pleased to be working with my local university De Montfort to make and fire these huge pieces. Work is now beginning on a large range of ceramic tiles, testing the new colour combinations I will be using.
I will be taking part in London Craft Week in May, with a collection of my ceramic and print pieces being shown in the exhibition 'Marks & Tools' at the Oxo Tower Gallery on the South Bank. I will be showing my work alongside other Design Nation makers and be 'In Conversation' with design writer Barbara Chandler on the at lunchtime on the 4th of May.
I'm excited to be exploring a new part of the British coastline for a private commission. I head up to Northumberland in April for preliminary sketches, paintings and note taking.
I am working on a collection of ceramic and print pieces for a solo exhibition at Michelle Dethurens Atelier de Ceramique, just outside Geneva as part of the Carouge Ceramics festival. Parcours Céramique Carougeois will run from the 16th to the 24th of September. I will be giving a talk and demonstration as part of the festival.
